DuoSpan® Subframe
Designed to do more. Engineered to last.
DuoSpan® combines the strength of aluminium with the design flexibility of recycled plastic. This achieves a system that provides exceptional ease of installation, enormous strength and durability, and the scope to construct stunning decks and structures that would be impossible with conventional subframes.
What is DuoSpan®?
DuoSpan® provides the perfect subframe for Millboard decking, as well as a universal support system for other outdoor flooring. Its ingenious design facilitates top-down fixing of decking boards and makes it an easy installation for all levels of competence.
DuoSpan® has been designed by industry professionals to comply with Eurocode 1: Actions on Structures (BS EN 1991-1-1), and is available in component form, or in five simple off-the-shelf kits, for ease of ordering.
Flexible connectivity
Multiple bracket types for all types of joints, including Flexible Brackets for non-standard angles.
Slot-and-screw Assembly
Screw-locating grooves and self-drilling screws ensure accurate alignment and a fast fix that’s right every time.
Unique curved constructions
The combination of rigid DuoSpan® with flexible Plas-Pro enables the construction of stunning curved formations.
Exceptional spans
The DuoSpan® 99mm Joist provides an exceptional 1800mm span in residential applications, reducing posts or joist supports required.
Corrosion-resistant
Galvanic corrosion between different metals is minimised with our cathodic barrier fixings.
Simple, stable fixing
Decking and cladding can be easily and securely screwed directly into the DuoSpan® subframe at almost any angle using Durafix 45mm screws.
DuoLift® Joist Pedestal
The versatile and user-friendly subframe support system.
DuoSpan® combines the strength of aluminium with the design flexibility of recycled plastic. This achieves a system that provides exceptional ease of installation, enormous strength and durability, and the scope to construct stunning decks and structures that would be impossible with conventional subframes.
What is DuoLift®?
The DuoLift® joist pedestal system was designed to make installation significantly easier and to ensure successful outcomes. Providing substantial height flexibility within four stackable components, DuoLift® removes the common problem of having to order varying height pedestals for a single area.
Height-adjustable from 15mm, DuoLift™ makes accurate height-setting easy, and is self-levelling from 35mm upwards.
DuoLift Joist Cradle 15-60mm
Providing an exceptional height range of 45mm, from 15-60mm, the DuoLift® Joist Cradle enables precision height adjustment with 5mm markings on the side and each quarter turn of the adjustment ring representing a 1mm rise or fall.
DuoLift Self-Levelling Joint 20mm
Adding 20mm to the height of the supports, the Self-levelling Joint provides easy and effective levelling of a subframe up to 5º, ready for decking installation. Suitable for standing directly onto a solid substrate, or for providing a joint for a higher support.
DuoLift Riser 45mm
The Riser component of the DuoLift® system increases the height in increments of 45mm. It is capable of sitting directly onto a solid substrate under the Joist Cradle and Self-Levelling Joint or forming part of a higher stack with a foot beneath.
DuoLift Joist Foot 45mm
The DuoLift® Foot provides a very stable footing for more elevated subframes, raising the height by 45mm and spreading the load further across the substrate, due to the 220mm base supporting a maximum combined height of 350mm.
DuoLift Acoustic Separation Pad 3mm
Agglomerated cork and recycled rubber pads offer a layer of protection between joist supports and membranes, as well as providing an acoustic benefit.
Plas-Pro
Recycled plastic joists and beams for enduring construction.
Plas Pro is Millboard’s premium 100% recycled subframe material and can be used alone or as part of our new DuoSpan landscaping subframe system. This all-weather, durable and flexible material is a practical alternative to timber and is perfectly suited to spaces exposed to damp, such as jetties, pools, roof terraces and boardwalks.

Fixings
Our range of fixings are exclusive to Millboard and enable a beautiful finish every time, especially when used with the handy fitting tool.
Durafix®
Our unique, hidden decking fixings make installing Millboard simple. There’s no pre-drilling, countersinking or clip fixings needed – all you need to do is screw them in. Once they’re in, the Millboard Lastane® coating simply flexes back over the screw, leaving a virtually indistinguishable mark and creating a cleaner finish. Made from stainless steel, the screws have a self-cutting tip, six-point Torx head, and are waxed for ease of use. And the drill bits are even included in the box.

35mm Durafix® Fascia screw
The 4.5x35mm Durafix® Fascia screw is a fixing that is to be used only with the Fascia boards. The purpose of the 35mm Durafix Fascia screw is for situations where the Fascia is being fitted to thinner battens (batten depth can be 25mm or greater), where a longer screw wouldn’t work. The Durafix Fascia screw, like the other Durafix fixings, is made from A2 stainless steel and features the same ‘tulip-shaped’ torx drive head. Once they’re in, the Millboard Lastane® coating on every board simply flexes back over the screw, leaving a virtually indistinguishable mark.

Subframe hexhead screw
Our subframe screw fixings make installing Millboard Plas-Pro subframes simple. With just a pre-drilled hole required, these heavy-duty coated hex flange head screws have a type 17 ‘gash’ point to reduce drive torque. They are also suitable for timber subframe systems. Please note screw coating colour may vary.

Millboard Multi-Spacer 3-6mm
The robust Millboard Multi-spacer is specifically designed to enable the fixing of Millboard decking both quicker and more accurately. At the same time, ‘The Millboard Multi-spacer’ allows accurate spacing of any of the four most popular board spacings, using just the one spacer Tool.

DuoFix Side-Fixing Guide
Our quick and easy fixing solution for a completely clean finish
Our innovative tool provides a quick and easy solution to fix the boards from the side, resulting in a clean, hidden fixing finish, keeping the face of the board completely clear of screw holes. This quality gives a clean look, even when used with lighter coloured boards.
How do I use the side-fixing guide?
To use, the Guide simply lays over the decking board and is adjustable to board widths of 145-200mm, making it compatible with all Millboard decking boards, and even some softwood decking boards.
When used in combination with Durafix® screws and the complimentary driver bit, the Guide aligns the screws perfectly and controls the fixing depth too, providing a 6mm spacing between boards.
