Exclusive: Santa endorses GFD Homes

Moreover, Santa Claus officially endorses GFD Homes, and reveals what he thinks about your front door.

Why Santa Chooses GFD Homes for his new Front Door

The big man in red has spoken.

Moreover, he has rather strong opinions about front doors and GFD Homes.

It’s not every day you get the opportunity to interview a global celebrity.

However, this is a figure who works just one night a year.

They travel at extraordinary speeds and have somehow avoided paying for parking for centuries.

GFD Homes recognises the rarity of such an interview.

But with Christmas fast approaching, we managed to secure an exclusive conversation with none other than Father Christmas himself.

And while we expected to discuss presents, reindeer and whether he’d finally upgraded his sleigh to electric, the conversation took an unexpected turn.

It turns out Santa has become something of a front door enthusiast.

More specifically, he’s developed a particular fondness for homes fitted with products from GFD Homes.

His words, not ours.

Well, mostly.

Santa, thanks for joining us. Busy time of year?

“Ho, ho, ho! You could say that!

“The elves are working overtime, Rudolph’s demanding another pay rise, and Mrs Claus has decided the entire North Pole needs decorating before Christmas.

“Apparently, being married to Father Christmas doesn’t exempt you from putting up the decorations.

“Who knew?”

So, Santa, we’ve heard a rumour that you’re rather fond of GFD Homes?

“Ah, you’ve heard about that, have you?

“Absolutely!

“Listen, I’ve been visiting homes for hundreds of years. I’ve seen just about every type of front door imaginable.

“Wooden doors, composite doors, aluminium doors. I’ve even encountered a few that looked as though they’d been hanging on since Victorian times.

“And believe me, when you’re delivering presents to millions of homes in one night, you start noticing the little things.

“These days, I can spot a lovely new GFD Homes front door from halfway down the street.

“Beautiful colours, smart designs, quality finishes.

“Some of them look so good I almost forget I’m supposed to be delivering presents.”

Hang on. Aren’t you supposed to come down the chimney?

Santa lets out an enormous laugh.

“HO, HO, HO!

“Have you tried finding a chimney on a modern housing estate?

“Half the houses don’t have one!

“And don’t get me started on log burners.

“Back in the day, I had a lovely big fireplace to work with. These days, I’m expected to squeeze through something barely wider than a Pringles tube.

“Last Christmas I got stuck halfway down a flue in Surrey.

“Rudolph had to pull me out.

“Most embarrassing.

“And the dry-cleaning bill for the suit? Astronomical!”

So what’s the alternative?

“Well, that’s where a good front door comes in.

“Obviously, I’ve got a little Christmas magic that helps me get into homes. Can’t reveal all my secrets, you understand.

“But these days, I’d much rather make a grand entrance through a beautiful front door.

“And if it’s from GFD Homes?

“Even better!

“There’s something rather satisfying about walking through a gorgeous new composite door, putting the presents under the tree and leaving everything exactly as you found it.

“No soot.

“No cobwebs.

“No getting wedged behind someone’s wood-burning stove.

“And no explaining to Mrs Claus why I’ve ruined another pair of trousers.”

So what makes a GFD Homes door so special?

“Well, for starters, they’re rather handsome.

“And I should know a thing or two about making an entrance.

“Look at me. Red suit, black boots, magnificent beard. I’ve been working this look for centuries.

“Presentation matters!

“But it’s not just about looking good.

“Homeowners want something that makes their property look fantastic, helps keep the warmth inside and gives them confidence in their home’s security.

“And from what I’ve seen, GFD Homes offers some cracking choices.

“Solidor, Comp Door, Door-Stop, Signature Aluminium.

“There’s something for just about every home and budget.

“Frankly, I’m surprised more people haven’t put a new front door on their Christmas list.”

We hear you’ve been discussing a new front door with Mrs Claus?

Santa leans forward.

“Oh, don’t get me started.

“Mrs Claus has been looking at front doors for weeks.

“It all started when she spotted a beautiful Solidor on a house in Yorkshire.

“She said, ‘Nicholas, why haven’t we got one of those?’

“I explained that our existing door had been perfectly adequate for the last 200 years.

“Apparently, that wasn’t the correct answer.

“So now we’re looking at replacing it.

“And she’s narrowed it down to two.”

Which two?

“Well, that’s the problem!

“She’s torn between a Solidor and a Comp Door.

“She loves the look and feel of Solidor, particularly the traditional designs. Says they’d look wonderful against the North Pole cottage.

“But then she discovered Comp Door.

“Now she’s been looking at the different styles, colours and glazing options.

“Every evening it’s the same conversation.

“‘Nicholas, what do you think of this one?’

“‘Nicholas, would this colour work with the windows?’

“‘Nicholas, should we have decorative glass?’

“I’ve delivered approximately 400 billion presents over my career, and I can tell you that choosing a front door with Mrs Claus is considerably more complicated.”

Surely you could just use Christmas magic?

“I suggested that!

“She said she wanted a proper door, not something conjured up by an elf who’s only ever made rocking horses.

“Fair point, really.

“So we’ve been using the GFD Homes website to explore the options.

“Very handy, actually.

“Although I did catch one of the elves designing a bright pink front door with gold furniture.

“He’s now back on wrapping duties.”

What about aluminium doors? Any thoughts?

“Oh, absolutely!

“Some of the modern properties I visit have these incredible aluminium entrance doors.

“Very contemporary. Very stylish.

“I’ve seen some beautiful Signature Aluminium designs that really make an entrance.

“Perfect for those homeowners wanting something a little different.

“Personally, I think they’d look magnificent on the workshop.

“Although the elves keep leaving the door open, so I’m not sure they’re ready for anything quite so sophisticated.”

And what about the rest of the house?

“Now you’re talking!

“I’ve seen some absolutely stunning homes with aluminium bifold doors, sliding patio doors and roof lanterns.

“Some of the Korniche products I’ve come across are particularly impressive.

“You wouldn’t believe the number of times I’ve landed on a roof and thought, ‘That’s a lovely roof lantern.’

“Although Rudolph has been warned about landing on them.

“Again.”

Santa, you’ve mentioned keeping the warmth inside. Surely that’s important at the North Pole?

“Important?

“It’s absolutely essential!

“Do you know how cold it gets up there?

“Mrs Claus has the heating on from September until approximately July.

“And every time an elf leaves the front door open, I can practically hear the money disappearing.

“A good-quality, properly fitted entrance door can make a real difference to comfort and draughts.

“And believe me, when you live somewhere that’s colder than a penguin’s freezer, you appreciate that.

colder than a penguin’s freezer

“That’s another reason I’m keen to get our new door sorted.

“Although Mrs Claus insists the colour is more important than anything else.”

Now, here’s the big question. Is it too late for homeowners to get a new front door before Christmas?

“Ah! Now THIS is important.

“People always leave things until the last minute.

“I know because I see the Christmas lists!

“But here’s the thing.

“If you’re thinking about treating your home to a new front door before Christmas, now is the time to get moving.

“Don’t wait until you’re putting the turkey in the oven before deciding the entrance needs an upgrade.

“GFD Homes has a fantastic selection of doors across different styles, colours and budgets.

“And depending on the product, specification and availability, there’s still an opportunity to get your home Christmas-ready.

“Of course, you’ll need to check the relevant delivery and installation arrangements.

“Even I can’t guarantee a last-minute delivery on Christmas Eve.

“Well, technically I could.

“But I’ve already got quite a lot on.”

So what’s your advice to homeowners?

“Simple.

“Think about that moment on Christmas morning.

“The decorations are up.

“The family is arriving.

“The house looks wonderful.

“And right there at the front of your home is a beautiful new entrance door.

“It’s the first thing your guests see.

“First impressions matter.

“And unlike that novelty Christmas jumper Uncle Dave buys you every year, a lovely new front door is something you can enjoy long after the decorations come down.

“Why not give your home a Christmas present this year?

“After all, you’ve been buying presents for everyone else.”

One final question, Santa. Are you officially recommending GFD Homes?

Santa straightens his hat.

“Well, put it this way.

“I visit more homes in one night than most people will visit in a lifetime.

“I know a good front door when I see one.

“And if you’re asking whether GFD Homes gets my seal of approval?

“Absolutely.

“Ten out of ten from the big fella himself!

“Although…”

Santa pauses.

“Actually, while we’re on the subject…”

Yes, Santa?

“Well, I’ve just spent the last half-hour telling everyone how wonderful GFD Homes is.

“And Mrs Claus is still trying to decide between that Solidor and the Comp Door.

“So I was wondering…

“Do you think the lovely people at GFD Homes might see their way to helping Father Christmas out with a new front door?

“Nothing extravagant.

“Just a nice little Christmas gesture.

“After all, I have been very good this year.

“And think of the publicity!

“‘GFD Homes Supplies Santa’s Front Door.’

“That’s got a certain ring to it, hasn’t it?”

We explained that we’d have to speak to the management team.

Santa nodded thoughtfully.

“Fair enough.

“Tell them I’m happy to throw in a few mince pies.

“And I can probably arrange for them to go straight onto the Nice List.”

Editor’s note: This interview is a festive work of fiction, created with a generous helping of Christmas spirit. No actual endorsement from Father Christmas has been obtained. Although we suspect he’d approve.
