Front Door Santa and Mrs Claus Chose—Secret Revealed

36

After Santa’s endorsement of GFD Homes, the internet erupted in a festive frenzy.

Did Mrs Claus choose Solidor Kensington Composite Door?

We’ve caught up with the world’s most famous Christmas couple, and we finally have the answer.

The Internet Has Spoken. Everyone Wants to Know!

Well, we certainly didn’t see this coming.

When we sat down with Father Christmas for our exclusive interview about front doors, chimneys and his rather surprising enthusiasm for GFD Homes, we thought we’d have a bit of festive fun.

What we didn’t anticipate was the imaginary internet practically melting under the weight of one burning question.

Not how Santa manages to visit millions of homes in one night.

Not whether Rudolph really does have a red nose.

Not even whether the elves are entitled to overtime.

No.

The question everyone apparently wanted answered was…

WHAT FRONT DOOR DID MRS CLAUS CHOOSE?

For those who missed our original interview, Santa revealed that Mrs Claus had been looking for a new front door for their North Pole home.

She’d narrowed her search down to two rather impressive contenders: Solidor and Comp Door.

Both fantastic choices. Both available through GFD Homes.

But which would ultimately win the heart of the woman who has spent centuries putting up with Nicholas and his Christmas antics?

We decided it was time for a follow-up.

And this time, Mrs Claus was joining the conversation.

An Exclusive Catch-Up with Mr and Mrs Claus

“Well, well, well,” chuckled Santa as we connected with the North Pole.

“Look who’s back! I thought you’d forgotten about us!”

Not a chance, Nicholas.

Apparently, everyone wants to know whether you’ve finally bought that new front door.

“Bought?” Santa spluttered.

“Steady on! We haven’t discussed the financial arrangements yet!”

At this point, Mrs Claus appeared beside him.

“NICHOLAS!”

“Yes, dear?”

“Stop embarrassing yourself. They’ve come to talk about the door.”

And with that, our interview began.

Mrs Claus, We Have to Ask. Did You Make Your Decision?

“Oh, absolutely!” she replied.

“And I have to say, I couldn’t be happier.

“You see, after Nicholas appeared on the GFD Homes website, I was rather taken aback.

“There he was, my husband, talking about front doors!

“For hundreds of years I’ve been asking him to do something about our entrance, and suddenly he’s become the world’s leading authority on composite doors.

“Typical man.

“But I must admit, I was rather proud of him.

“So I decided to have another look at GFD Homes myself.”

Another look?

“Oh yes, dear. I’d already spent quite some time looking at the different designs.

“But after seeing Nicholas talking so enthusiastically about them, I thought I’d better take things a little more seriously.

“And that’s when I found it.”

Found what?

“The one.

“The perfect front door.

“The door I’d been looking for all along.”

And the Winner Is… The Solidor Kensington!

“Oh, it’s absolutely beautiful,” she told us.

“I was browsing the GFD Homes website when I came across their article introducing the new Solidor Kensington composite door.

“And that was it.

“I knew immediately.

“Sometimes you can spend weeks looking at something, comparing colours, styles and designs, and then suddenly you see the one that’s absolutely right.

“That’s exactly what happened.”

Mrs Claus had discovered the Kensington through the GFD Homes article, which explores the design, its styling and the options available to homeowners.

“It was perfect in every way,” Mrs Claus continued.

“Stylish, elegant and just the sort of entrance I wanted for our home.

“I could already picture the Christmas wreath hanging on it.

“The lanterns either side.

“A lovely festive welcome for everyone arriving at the North Pole.

“And most importantly, something I could enjoy for the other 364 days of the year.”

Santa nodded enthusiastically.

“Yes, absolutely. Wonderful door. Magnificent choice.”

Mrs Claus raised an eyebrow.

“Nicholas, you hadn’t even seen it until I showed you.”

“Well, yes, but I recognised its magnificence immediately!”

What Happened to Comp Door?

We had to ask.

After all, Santa had previously told us that Mrs Claus was torn between the two brands.

“Oh, I still think Comp Door is absolutely lovely,” she explained.

“There were several designs I really liked.

“And I can completely understand why homeowners would choose one.

“But for our cottage, the Kensington just felt right.

“That’s the wonderful thing about having so much choice.

“What suits one home might not suit another.

“And with GFD Homes offering Solidor, Comp Door, Door-Stop and Signature Aluminium, there’s plenty to explore.”

Santa leaned towards the microphone.

“I suggested we get one of each.”

Mrs Claus sighed.

“He did.”

“One for the cottage, one for the workshop, one for the reindeer stables…”

“Nicholas, the reindeer do not need a composite front door.”

“Well, not with that attitude they don’t!”

So, Santa, Did You Place the Order?

There was a rather suspicious silence.

Mrs Claus folded her arms.

“Go on, Nicholas. Tell them.”

Santa looked slightly uncomfortable.

“Well, you see, there were some discussions.”

Discussions?

“Yes. Commercial discussions.”

Mrs Claus rolled her eyes.

“I sent him to speak to the lovely team at GFD Homes about ordering our Kensington.

“A perfectly straightforward job.

“Choose the door, confirm the details and arrange everything.

“How difficult could it be?”

Santa cleared his throat.

“Well, when you’re Father Christmas, you do have certain responsibilities.”

Such as?

“Negotiating.”

Oh dear.

The Great GFD Homes Mince Pie Negotiations

Readers of our original Santa interview might remember that Nicholas made a rather cheeky suggestion.

Having given GFD Homes his enthusiastic endorsement, he wondered whether the company might return the favour by helping him out with a new front door.

He even offered to throw in a few mince pies.

Apparently, he hadn’t forgotten.

“So I contacted the team at GFD Homes,” Santa explained.

“Lovely people.

“Very helpful.

“And naturally, I reminded them of the tremendous publicity I’d generated.

“I mean, an endorsement from Father Christmas himself!

“You can’t put a price on that.”

Mrs Claus interrupted.

“Although you certainly tried.”

Santa ignored her.

“Anyway, I offered them a very generous arrangement.

“A year’s supply of mince pies in exchange for helping us with our new Kensington.”

A year’s supply?

“Absolutely!

“Freshly made by the North Pole bakery.

“Best mince pies in the world.

“I even offered to throw in some brandy butter.”

And what did GFD Homes say?

“Well, apparently, they’re trying to look after their waistlines.”

Really?

“Yes! Something about not wanting to spend the entire Christmas period eating several thousand mince pies.

“Personally, I thought it was a tremendous offer.”

Mrs Claus smiled.

“Thankfully, the team came up with a much better idea.”

A Christmas Deal That Benefits Everyone

It turns out that the GFD Homes team had a rather interesting proposition of their own.

Instead of accepting a mountain of mince pies, they suggested Santa could do something that would spread a little Christmas magic far beyond the North Pole.

Santa leaned forward.

“And this is the clever bit.

“They said, ‘Nicholas, rather than sending us all those mince pies, why don’t we do something special for our customers?’

“And I thought, well, that’s rather a lovely idea.”

So what did you agree?

Santa grinned.

“I’ve promised to bring a little extra festive cheer to every home that gets a new GFD Homes door this Christmas period!”

Extra festive cheer?

“Absolutely!

“Now, I can’t reveal precisely what that involves.

“Christmas magic is a closely guarded secret.

“But let’s just say that when I’m doing my rounds on Christmas Eve, I’ll be keeping a particularly cheerful eye out for those lovely new GFD Homes doors.”

Does that mean extra presents?

“HO, HO, HO!

“Nice try!

“I’m not promising everyone a new bicycle or a giant television.

“But a little extra Christmas spirit?

“That I can certainly arrange!”

Mrs Claus nodded approvingly.

“And that’s why I liked the arrangement.

“Everyone wins.

“We get our beautiful new Kensington.

“GFD Homes gets another happy household.

“And families across the country get to enjoy a lovely new front door and a little festive magic.

“Much better than Nicholas delivering enough mince pies to feed a small country.”

But Can Homeowners Still Get a New Door Before Christmas?

Now, this is where our festive conversation took a slightly more practical turn.

Because while Santa might have a magical sleigh and a workshop full of elves, even he understands that a bespoke front door doesn’t simply appear overnight.

“Exactly!” Santa exclaimed.

“And this is something I want everyone to understand.

“If you’re thinking about getting a new front door for Christmas, don’t leave it until the last minute.

“These doors are made to suit your home.

“There’s choosing the design, confirming the specification, arranging the survey where required, manufacturing and delivery, and then getting everything ready for installation.

“That takes time.

“And the closer we get to Christmas, the busier everyone becomes.”

Mrs Claus agreed.

“People forget that a new front door isn’t something you simply pick up from a shelf.

“You want it to be right.

“The right design, the right colour, the right glass and the right finishing touches.

“And if you’d like it fitted before your Christmas guests arrive, it’s sensible to get started as soon as possible.”

At the time of writing, there are still opportunities to arrange pre-Christmas installation, depending on the chosen product, location and available fitting slots.

But those opportunities become more limited as Christmas approaches.

Santa offered one final piece of advice.

“Don’t wait until I’m loading the sleigh before deciding you need a new door.

“Even I can’t work miracles with manufacturing lead times.

“Well, I can work miracles.

“But you know what I mean.”

Mrs Claus, Any Advice for Homeowners Still Deciding?

“Yes,” she replied.

“Take your time choosing the right door, but don’t take forever getting your order underway.

“Look at the different styles.

“Think about the colours and how they’ll complement your home.

“Consider the glass, handles and finishing touches.

“And don’t assume that what looks wonderful on your neighbour’s house is necessarily the best choice for yours.

“That’s why I found the GFD Homes website so useful.

“I could explore the options, discover new designs and find something that really suited our cottage.”

Santa nodded.

“And remember, your front door isn’t just for Christmas.

“Although I do rather like the idea of a lovely big wreath on ours.”

Mrs Claus smiled.

“Yes, Nicholas. You’ve mentioned that several times.”

One Last Question. Is the Kensington Definitely the One?

“Oh, without question,” said Mrs Claus.

“I’ve made my decision.

“It’s the Solidor Kensington.

“And Nicholas has been given very clear instructions not to change anything.”

Santa looked offended.

“Would I do that?”

Mrs Claus stared at him.

“Last year you ordered a new sleigh in the wrong shade of red.”

“It was festive burgundy!”

“It was purple, Nicholas.”

“Well, the lighting wasn’t very good…”

We decided that was probably a good moment to conclude our interview.
