The Reynaers sliding door is incredibly versatile, available in a choice of single, double and triple track options. This gives you a huge selection of sliding configurations to choose from, and the option of having more than one pane sliding independently.
All of our sliding doors feature a lift and slide mechanism as standard, which is a more modern method of operation that the traditional patio doors that used sit on rollers and slide on a track. With a lift and slide system you rotate the handle 180° which lifts the door up onto its rollers. The rollers then help take the weight of the door, which makes these a lot easier to operate. For this reason, lift and slide operation is much more suited to larger glazing panes that have a lot of weight in them.
The other benefit of a lift and slide system is that the door can be locked in an open position, so they cannot be moved accidentally. This is a great way to get some extra ventilation securely during the Summer months.

The Reynaers Difference
It’s fair to say that Reynaers offer the ultimate aluminium sliding door - why else would it be the product of choice for some of the most prestigious architectural projects across the world? Here’s some of the benefits of this flagship product that you could soon be enjoying in your home:
Bi Fold vs Patio?
Many of our customers ask for advice on which is the best - a bi-folding door or a sliding patio? In truth there is no better product, they are simply different products that are best suited to different environments.
There are really two key benefits of each product, so answer the question below to find out which product is the one for you:

I want as much glass as possible

I want to open the doors to the outside
Other considerations:
- If you have opening restrictions (e.g. on a balcony or inside the home) then a patio may be better, as these do not need any room to stack like the bi-folds.
- Generally speaking patios will have a slightly improved energy rating due to the amount of glass, so if you have a competitive U value to achieve a patio may be the best option.
- Bi-folds can only be manufactured up to 6 metres in width. Patios are available up to 12 metres!
- Generally the price difference between bi folds and patios is negligible. However, for patios with larger glazing panels (1500mm plus) the glass has to be upgraded to 6mm laminated which does add a premium to the price.
- Patios are generally recommended for large span areas where bi folds are not appropriate (e.g. areas exposed to high winds or upper floor apartments)
